Week 15

This is what my wordpress site looks like this week. I have changed the icons of my three categories of prairie school, student teaching progress, and work that I have completed so far at Saint Xavier concerning the education classes that I have completed so far in my educational carreer. Each category has its own icon, so this makes it easier for the viewer to determine which category each individual post falls into. For next week, I will hopefully add a lot more posts and categorize them into the three categories that I have so far. I plan to add a lot more pieces of work that I have completed so far as an education major, as well as trying to take the viewer through the process of how I have come to the place that I am in now, as I progress into student teaching. I hope to add posts of when I was accepted into the Education program as well as other significant events that have led me to my success so far, such as the induction into the Sigma Theta Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, which is an educational honors society. I also plan to change a little bit more of the design of my wordpress site in order to spice it up a little.

Week 14

This week we were supposed to hack our wordpress site from last week. We are supposed to upload our before and after screen captures of the wordpress site from last week to this week. Also, for this week I have added three categories to my wordpress site. The categories are: work, prairie school, and student teaching progress. I still only have one page which is 'about me.' I hacked one of the themes that I chose in order to make it revolve around my idea for this blog, which was all about my student teaching experience.

Week 13

This week I found out how to use word press with my host. I will use a link from my splash page to my wordpress account. So far I have one page and ten posts, and I am still trying to adjust my theme. I would also like to add one more page and at least one more post. I am also adding tags to my post which include words such as: terrah, student teaching, prairie, teacher, teacher, placement, interview, assessment, etc. I will upload the screen captures of the wordpress site that I have created when I get home from class.

I have also added the image and link to the wordpress site from my main index.html page. I will also upload the screen capture of this site as well.

Week 12

This week I tried all class period to install wordpress on my host. It was very unsuccessful. Hopefully by next week I will have found a way to make my new site using wordpress. The idea that I have for this new site is a blog that is about my journey in student teaching. So far, I have an about me page and two posts: one about the interview that I had for student teaching and one for when I found out that my placement was accepted.

Week 11

This week we were to come in with photos of the VAC and a text file that describes the image. I took pictures of both the side parking lot as well as the patio area in the back of the building. I have not yet decided which photo that I want to use, but today in class we will be using the photos and text to add information to the SXU VAC web site using word press. I chose to use the photo of the secondary parking lot at the VAC to add to the web site. Above is a screen capture of my contribution to the VAC site.

I have also added to my main home page. I added another link from my home page to my livetext page, which is a web site that houses all of my most valuable works that I have completed so far at SXU during my courses as an elementary education major. I have uploaded the updated screen capture of my home page.

Week 10

This week I re-did my Hub site.

Craft: I used three tables to insert the header, and the other two rows of site-links. Instead of using text, I just used squares of images of the sites that serve as links to those sites.

Composition: I chose to keep the header the same as the previous hub site because I liked it. I chose to use a yellow background because I like this neutral color, and I think it can go with any of the colors of the other sites.

Concept: I like the modern layout of this new hub site, which is why I decided against using text along with the images of this site.

Keep in mind that this site is not complete, so that is why the second row of links is not all the way filled in.
